Updated September 17, 2026. This policy covers the native Veridano 2.0 app. The former website and earlier app versions used different services.
What stays on your device
Your household preferences, dietary needs, allergies, recipes, notes, photos, meal plan, pantry and grocery list are stored in the app’s local library. Cooking progress, timers, reminders and a short history of recently suggested dishes are also stored locally. There is no Veridano account, advertising SDK or third-party analytics in this app.
Apple Intelligence
When you ask for a recipe or dinner ideas, your request and relevant kitchen context are processed by Apple Intelligence, including Apple Private Cloud Compute. This context can include household size, dietary needs and allergies, time available, food preferences, pantry ingredients and the recipe you are refining. Veridano does not send these requests to a developer-operated AI server.
Dish-photo recognition runs on your device. Its text description is then used for recipe generation; the selected image is not sent to the recipe model. Ingredient illustrations are bundled with the app.
Apple handles its services under Apple’s privacy practices. Veridano does not maintain a server-side archive of your AI prompts or generated recipes.
Purchases and the free trial
Apple processes purchases. Veridano uses StoreKit to verify access and restore your one-time unlock; we do not receive your payment-card details. A device-only Keychain item records how many free recipes you have completed. It contains no prompt or recipe content and is not part of a library export. The trial is per device.
Backups, sharing and reminders
Automatic library sync is not enabled in version 2.0. You can export your library to Files or iCloud Drive, import a backup, or share a recipe through the system share sheet. An exported library includes household preferences, recipes, photos, notes, plans, pantry and groceries. The location or recipient you choose controls that copy. Optional planning reminders are local notifications on your device.
Your choices
You can edit your household information, remove individual recipes and manage your library in the app. Deleting the app removes its local library; copies in device backups, exported files or shared destinations must be managed separately. The device-only trial counter may survive reinstalling. Apple manages purchase records and refund requests.
Support and earlier accounts
If you email support, we receive the address and information you choose to send and use it to answer you. Please avoid sending sensitive dietary or household details unless needed. For questions, privacy requests or help with a former Veridano account, contact support@veridano.org. The new app does not automatically import or delete records from the former service.
Children and changes
Veridano is intended for adults managing meals. Optional children’s ages help tailor household recipes; the app does not require children’s names or accounts. We will update this page when the native app’s data handling changes.
